CAREER - Personal and Career Mentoring for people who want to make the most of their life.

I assist people through the development of a Life Action Plan to improve their clarity, their confidence and their ability to live with purpose through the power of intention. I mentor people in three main areas:

• CAREER AND LIFE PURPOSE.

• BALANCE IN WORK, LOVE AND PLAY.

• OVERCOMING OBSTACLES TO GREATER SUCCESS IN RELATIONSHIPS, HEALTH,
MONEY AND WORK.

CASE STUDY

Challenge – Amy, a bright yet frustrated travel agent in her mid-thirties, came to me complaining that she felt “burned out and bored” with her current position. She had been doing this kind of work for the past five years and had completely lost her enthusiasm. Earning only $32000/year, Amy felt like she was being undervalued. With her life experience, talents, and skills she believed there must be some way she could find a more lucrative career for herself that was both mentally stimulating and more in line with her current interests.

Process – Although Amy was clear that she wanted to start a new career in a new field, she did not know where to begin. The first step was to get Amy to reveal her inner desires, interests, and passions. After a number of discussions and focused exercises, Amy began to create a picture of her ideal career which included her love for travel, her keen abilities to plan and organize, and her preference for working on projects rather than daily routines. The next step in the coaching process was getting Amy to a place where she was comfortable claiming that she was worth a much higher salary than the one she was currently receiving. By overcoming some of her limiting beliefs regarding money and personal value, Amy finally came to admit that she felt she deserved a salary of $60,000. The final stage was guiding Amy in her job search by helping her develop effective researching and networking skills and strategies.

Results – Amy and I met every other week for six months during which time we developed realistic targets and appropriate expectations to ensure a seamless career transition. In a pivotal session, our research led to the discovery that a position as an event planner covered most of the criteria for Amy’s ideal career. Shortly thereafter, through her newly acquired networking skills, she obtained a lead on an event planning position. With little difficulty on Amy’s part, she was hired for this position and was pleasantly surprised to find that in addition to a salary of $72000 and traveling all over the country, as a bonus, she would receive a one hour massage once a week in her office building.
